Over the years, La Causa has gone from being a popular dish to become part of the majestic range of stews that make up Peruvian cuisine. Although it is indeed possible to find it mostly stuffed with tuna or chicken; however, an endless number of inputs of different textures and flavors can be added to its presentation, it all depends on the taste and creativity of the cook.
To prepare a homemade Causa you need the following ingredients: 1 kilo of yellow potato, 1 medium diced onion, 1 cup of mayonnaise, a parboiled and shredded chicken breast, 1 lemon, 3 yellow chili peppers without vein, 1 avocado, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, salt, and pepper to taste.
